Si apre ufficialmente la 79ª edizione del Festival di Cannes, uno degli appuntamenti più attesi del panorama internazionale tra cinema, moda e celebrità. Come ogni anno, il celebre red carpet della Croisette diventa una passerella esclusiva dove attori, registi e ospiti internazionali sfoggiano creazioni firmate dalle più importanti maison di moda.

Tra abiti couture, gioielli preziosi e look su misura, l’attenzione è tutta puntata sul tradizionale “chi veste chi”, vero protagonista glamour della manifestazione. Le star internazionali scelgono le firme più iconiche del fashion system per celebrare l’eleganza e lo stile che da sempre contraddistinguono Cannes.

Réunissant des personnalités influentes du cinéma, de la philanthropie, de la diplomatie et de l’innovation, cette soirée s’inscrit dans la continuité de la mission du fonds : utiliser l’art et la culture comme catalyseurs d’un changement mondial significatif. L’un des moments forts sera la présence de Sharon Stone, actrice de renommée internationale, humanitaire et militante engagée, qui recevra le Prix du Meilleur Engagement en reconnaissance de son influence culturelle remarquable et de son engagement de longue date en faveur des causes humanitaires. Organisé sous le haut patronage du ministère égyptien des Affaires étrangères, avec le soutien de S.E. L’ambassadeur d’Égypte en France, Tarek Dahroug, et son épouse, Alia El-Sirafi, rendent hommage cette année à l’Égypte, célébrant son riche patrimoine culturel et son rayonnement international. Cet événement est présenté en partenariat avec la campagne « The Hope Giver » d’Anwar Elkamony, réaffirmant ainsi son engagement envers des initiatives humanitaires à fort impact. « Nous sommes convaincus que le cinéma a aujourd’hui un rôle essentiel à jouer en tant que vecteur de valeurs sociales, éducatives et environnementales. Sensibiliser le public est un pilier fondamental de cet art, tout comme la nécessité de donner une plus grande visibilité aux films percutants et captivants, animés par la volonté d’avoir un impact positif sur le monde », déclare Manuel Collas de la Roche, président et fondateur du Better World Fund. Un héritage d’engagement Au fil des ans, le Better World Fund a distingué un nombre exceptionnel de personnalités internationales. Parmi les personnalités honorées lors des éditions précédentes, on compte des icônes hollywoodiennes telles que Susan Sarandon, Sharon Stone, Kevin Costner, Catherine Deneuve, Juliette Binoche, Isabelle Huppert et David Lynch, ainsi que des activistes, des chefs d’entreprise, des philanthropes, des ambassadeurs et des membres de familles royales de renom. Une soirée de prestige et d’engagement Le Gala pour l’Humanité du Better World Fund, qui se tiendra de 20h à 1h du matin, célébrera l’héritage du réalisateur égyptien Youssef Chahine à l’occasion du centenaire de sa naissance, lors d’une soirée placée sous le signe du prestige et de l’engagement. L’événement débutera par une réception sur tapis rouge, suivie d’un dîner de charité, de performances artistiques et de la remise des Better World Awards, ainsi que d’un hommage spécial au cinéaste emblématique. Une vente aux enchères caritative privée, organisée en collaboration avec Tessier Sarrou et Artlys Patrimoine, proposera des œuvres d’art, des expériences de luxe et des voyages exclusifs. Les fonds récoltés seront destinés à des initiatives clés soutenues par le Fonds : l’hôpital Al Nas du Caire, dédié aux soins pédiatriques ; et la Women’s Refugee Commission, organisation pionnière basée à New York qui protège et autonomise les femmes et les enfants déplacés à travers le monde, transformant les politiques et les pratiques humanitaires pour privilégier l’autonomie des réfugiés. Le gala proposera également un programme musical exceptionnel avec des performances de la soprano et chanteuse d’opéra égyptienne Amira Selim. La chanteuse multi-platine Abi Flynn sera également à l’affiche. Auteure-compositrice-interprète britannique, Abi Flynn est une artiste aux multiples disques de platine dont le parcours est marqué par la résilience, la force et le courage d’affirmer pleinement son potentiel. Avec un succès dans le Top 40 britannique, un numéro 1 au classement Billboard américain et des collaborations internationales majeures avec des artistes tels que Tinie Tempah, Joel Corry et Nathan Dawe, elle est devenue l’une des voix les plus recherchées de la musique dance contemporaine. Parmi les moments forts de la soirée, on retiendra l’intervention du Dr Gihane Zaki, en présence de personnalités égyptiennes telles que Laila Elwi, Hany Salama et Yara Elsokkary, ainsi que de l’invitée d’honneur, l’actrice iranienne Mahnaz Afshar. La soirée rendra hommage à un groupe de personnalités éminentes du cinéma, de la culture, de la diplomatie et de l’action sociale à travers les Better World Awards, créés par Dante Mortet. Le Prix de la Meilleure Performance sera décerné à Olga Kurylenko, l’actrice franco-ukrainienne reconnue pour son rôle dans « Don’t Give Up! », présenté à Cannes le 17 mai. Ce même prix honorera également S.E. le Dr Tarek Dahroug, Ambassadeur d’Égypte en France et Délégué permanent auprès de l’UNESCO, ainsi que Nandana Dev Sen, actrice, auteure, militante pour les droits de l’enfant et Directrice de la Commission des femmes réfugiées, tous trois primés. Le Prix du Meilleur Engagement récompensera Aurelia Khazan, actrice et chanteuse française. Beth Powell, capitaine de ligne d’origine jamaïcaine, figure de proue de l’aviation et réalisatrice émergente, et Khen Thanh Nhat, producteur de cinéma, recevront le Prix de l’Ambassadeur Culturel 2026. Stephen Mao, producteur de cinéma américain, recevra ce prix. Un second Prix du Meilleur Engagement sera décerné à Vialina Lemann, mannequin internationale et ancienne gymnaste rythmique née à Tachkent, en Ouzbékistan.
